Namings and Welcomings are beautiful, meaningful, and memorable ceremonies in which a new baby, or a new family member, or even a new member of a group, organization, or community is formally welcomed, and, in the case of a new baby, formally introduced by name and welcomed into a family and/or community as a fully-accepted and entirely-included member.
Welcomings and Initiations are also magical and meaningful ways for a member of a special group, club, or organization to be welcomed by name, especially if s/he is taking a new name as part of his/her initiation and formal induction into the group.
Susan wants to make your Naming or Welcoming ceremony, or your Initiation ceremony, as perfect for you in life as it is in your imagination. So, whether you are planning a large, formal ceremony or an intimate gathering of close friends and family, Susan will work with you to make every step of the planning as simple, enjoyable, and convenient as it can be. She will also work to make your ceremony both magical and memorable for you, and for your guests. In addition, Susan is more than happy to perform same-sex ceremonies of every kind that she offers!
As an Ordained Minister, as well as an Independent Celebrant, Susan also creates and performs personalized Dedications and Baptisms. Because Susan is not affiliated with any particular religious organization or church, she has the freedom to create and perform Dedications and Baptisms that are magical, meaningful and memorable to you and to your guests. Each one of these ceremonies puts your personal desires, wishes, and needs at the center, so that you will have the ceremony of which you dream.
Susan begins with an initial meeting in which she will discuss your plans for the ceremony. She will get to know you--as an individual and as part of a family, group, or community; learn about the personal, familial, cultural, and spiritual traditions that you want to include in your ceremony; discuss your chosen venue (either indoors or outside is fine!); and discuss your plans for readings, music, and so forth. If you will be having family members and/or friends participate in the ceremony, Susan will make arrangements to communicate with them personally in advance of the ceremony.
Your second meeting with Susan will take place, if possible, at your chosen venue, so that Susan can familiarize herself with the site at which your ceremony will be held. This meeting will take place approximately 2 weeks in advance of your ceremony.
From your first meeting with Susan until the ceremony has taken place, Susan will be available by phone, text, and email to discuss your plans, answer your questions, offer assistance and encouragement with choosing and/or writing your readings, etc. She will do her best to make the process as easy on you, and as enjoyable, as it can possibly be.
There is no charge for your initial meeting. If you decide that Susan is the right person to perform your naming or welcoming ceremony, she will draw up a contract for you to sign, with all of the charges included and explained, so that there will be no surprises or unexpected expenses.
Naming and welcoming packages begin at $200.00, plus travel expenses (see below), and go up from there, depending upon the services that you choose, the size of the ceremony, and the location of the ceremony. The cost for most naming and welcoming packages ranges from $200.00 to $400.00, plus travel expenses (see below). You will know the exact cost of Susan's services, plus exactly what is included, before you sign the contract. Whichever options and price range you choose, however, you can rest assured that you will NOT receive a "cookie-cutter" ceremony! Your ceremony will be entirely customized to your needs and wishes, and, because Susan performs only one ceremony per day, you will have her complete attention and time on the day of your ceremony!
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required when you sign the contract. This deposit holds your date (Susan performs only one ceremony per day, so that you will have her complete attention on the day of your naming or welcoming ceremony). It pays for Susan's initial work on your ceremony, as well, which begins as soon as you sign your contract.
The complete balance is due no later than 2 weeks prior to the date of the ceremony. If your ceremony is to be held within 2 weeks of your initial meeting with Susan, the entire cost is due and payable when you sign the contract.
Susan is always happy to include your personal, spiritual, and cultural traditions in your ceremony, as well.
Have you ever walked through a house that you were considering buying, or an apartment that you were considering renting, and felt that the energy there was negative, unpleasant, or even frightening?
If so, you will understand the value of a house cleansing and/or house blessing. These ceremonies give your new home or apartment--or even a house or apartment in which you have lived for many years, but that is holding the negative energy that lingers there from a difficult relationship challenge, or a lengthy illness or death, or even an abusive situation--the kind of positive energy that makes living there a more relaxing, refreshing, and positive experience.
To give your home the fresh start that it needs, as well as the positive energy in which to live that you deserve--energy that will allow you to live there more peacefully than you otherwise might--Susan will perform a house cleansing and/or house blessing. These ceremonies can be private, with only yourself and/or family members in attendance, or they can be part of a larger moving-in or changing-of-life-circumstances celebration with numerous family members and friends in attendance.
Susan will hold one meeting with you prior to the ceremony, to get to know you and your particular situation and needs. This initial consultation is free. If you decide that Susan is the right person to hold this ceremony, she will give you a contract to sign that includes all charges, as well as an explanation of the services that she will provide, so that there will be no surprises or unexpected charges. Payment in full is due at the time that you sign the contract.
From the time of the initial meeting until after your ceremony has taken place, Susan will be available by phone, text, and email to discuss your ceremony, answer questions, make suggestions as to readings and music, and provide both support and encouragement along the way. If family members or friends will be participating in the ceremony, Susan will communicate with them directly prior to the ceremony.
House blessing and house cleansing packages begin at $100.00, plus travel expenses (see below), and go up, depending upon the services that you choose. Most house blessing and house cleansing packages range from $100.00 to $300.00, plus travel expenses (see below).
Susan will do her best to make your ceremony both magical and memorable, and to make the planning process as easy and enjoyable for you as possible.
House cleansings and house blessings were once commonplace, and, indeed, few people would have occupied a new home in certain times and locations without the benefit of the positive energy and blessings that result from such ceremonies. Today, this wonderful tradition is making a comeback, and more people each day are finding out how different even their "old house" can feel once it is has been cleansed of negative energy and filled with positive energy and blessings.
Susan is more than happy to include your personal, familial, spiritual, and cultural beliefs, traditions, and practices in the ceremony (as long as she can do so in good conscience). These ceremonies can have spiritual aspects or be far more nature-based than they are spiritual. The choice in perspective is yours, of course, in consultation with Susan.
Reiki sessions can be booked either independently of our other services or in concert with them.
The average Reiki session lasts for approximately 60 minutes, and it includes a full-body Reiki treatment, as well as a focus on problem or painful areas. Susan performs Reiki both in a private "Reiki Room" in her own home (for those people who can climb one flight of stairs) and in the homes of her clients. Clients who prefer to come to Susan's home are treated to a relaxing session, complete with music, incense (for those people who enjoy it), candles, and bottled water.
A full one-hour (approximately) Reiki session costs $75.00, plus travel expenses, if applicable (see below). Discounts are available, however, for larger groups that have booked other services with Susan. For example, for a wedding party of 4 people (say, the bride, groom, Maid of Honor, and Best Man), for whom Susan is performing the wedding ceremony, each Reiki session will last between 45 and 60 minutes, and the total cost will be $200.00 (rather than $300.00), plus travel expenses, if applicable (see below). Susan books no more than 4 Reiki sessions per day, so larger parties are encouraged to book on consecutive or separate days.
Individual readings can be booked either independently of our other services or in concert with them. Moreover, individual readings can be done either in person or long distance (these involve one or two phone calls). Susan charges $50.00 for a simple reading (e.g., one question), and $100.00 for a complex reading (e.g., two or more related or interconnected questions), plus travel expenses, if applicable (see below).
As a highly-gifted psychic, clairvoyant, clairsentient, and empath, Susan does various types of readings (e.g. tarot readings, crystal ball readings, various types of divination, and psychic readings), both individually and in combination. Generally, Susan prefers to book a reading, and then decide which tools and methods will be the most effective and helpful for a given client and question.
Please bear in mind that these readings are not meant to "Tell the Future." Rather, they are meant to be used as guidance and assistance in the decision-making process; or when facing choices, changes, and challenges in life; or when dealing with a difficult or unsettling situation or person; and so forth.
Each reading will be guided by a question, so you can either have your question in mind before contacting Susan or have her assist you in composing it.
However, if you plan to have your question in mind when you contact Susan, please avoid questions like, "Will I get "x" job?" Instead, if you are seeking a particular job or position, for example, you might ask, "What changes should I make in myself and my approach to job-seeking to give me the best chance to be hired for job "x"?" In other words, ask the kind of question that, once answered, will assist you in getting whatever it is that you seek.
One extremely important caution is in order here: Susan only does readings for those people who request that she does so, and who give her permission to do so. In other words, she finds it unethical to give information to a client regarding another person (who has NOT given her permission to do so). If you wish to include information in your reading regarding, for example, your partner or spouse, friend, family member, child over the age of 13, or anyone else, then, Susan will need the written permission of that person or those persons.
Under no circumstances will Susan give advice or guidance that compromises the free will of another person. So, Susan will ask that all questions of the type, "How can I make so-and-so love me?" be reworded to something like, "What are the most important things for me to do in order to find a loving partner?" In like manner, Susan will ask that all questions of the type, "How can I make my husband act more romantic towards me?" be rephrased to something like, "What can I do to bring more romance into my relationship with so-and-so?"
This might sound complicated, but, really, it is simply a matter of keeping the focus of your questions on yourself. Questions, then, like "What can I do...?" "What changes should I make...?" "What approach should I take...?" are the exact kind of questions to ask!
The fees for Individual Readings vary, depending upon the complexity of the reading, but, in general, the fees range from $50.00 for a simple reading (e.g., one question) to $100 for a complex reading (e.g., two or more related or interconnected questions), plus travel expenses, if applicable (see below).
Susan charges 60 cents per mile for all travel by car, plus tolls and parking, when applicable. In addition, there may be a small premium added for driving into, or out of, Seattle during rush hour.
If the location of your ceremony and/or the time of your ceremony necessitates an overnight stay on Susan's part near your venue of choice (in locations other than Tacoma, WA), then Susan charges the cost of one-night's lodging, plus either one or two meals, whichever is required, in addition to the travel expenses discussed above.
All travel expenses will be fully outlined before you sign your contract, and they will be included in your contract as part of the total fee for Susan's services.
As a general rule, Susan will travel up to 50 miles from Tacoma, WA for all ceremonies, and up to 30 miles from Tacoma, WA for all other services. However, distances are negotiable, and Susan will often travel further to accommodate ceremonies that are being held in popular venues in the Tacoma/Seattle vicinity and beyond.
